Michael Guill, Principal

I build websites for home-service businesses. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, window treatments: companies where the website has exactly one job, which is to make the phone ring.

That’s the whole practice. One person, twenty-five years of doing this, and no account manager sitting between you and the work.

Why Trades?

I didn’t start Browncoat Digital because the world needed another marketing agency. I started it because I grew up in a construction household—my dad was a commercial job site manager—and three of my brothers-in-law are electricians. I know what real, skilled work looks like, and I know how much sweat goes into running a trade business.

After years on the agency side, what I kept running into was the same pattern: contractors paying agency prices for a site that won a design award and generated four leads a year. Beautiful, slow, and built by people who had never sat in a truck at 6 a.m. wondering where next week’s jobs were coming from. I built Browncoat Digital to give local trade contractors honest, high-performing digital marketing that respects the craft—no fluff, no runaround, just results that keep your crews busy.

How this works:

You talk to me. I build it. That’s the process.

No discovery phase that costs money and produces a PDF. No junior designer learning on your budget. No “let me circle back with the team” — there’s no team to circle back to. When you email, I’m the one who answers.

Pricing is published on the homepage because you shouldn’t have to sit through a sales call to find out what a website costs. Three packages, fixed prices, and I’ll tell you when you don’t need the expensive one. If none of those work, we will discuss a custom solution.

The credentials, briefly

Over twenty-five years building for the web. Ten of them leading digital experience teams, which mostly means I’ve seen how large agencies operate from the inside and made a deliberate decision not to work that way.

Browncoat Digital was previously 107 Designs: same person, same work, better name.

What I don't do:

I don’t do logo design, social media management, or run your ad campaigns. I know people who do those well, and I’ll point you at them rather than pretending.

I don’t build sites that fail on a phone. Most of your traffic is somebody standing in a parking lot with one bar of signal, and a site that takes eight seconds to load has already lost that job.

I don’t lock you into a contract or hold anything hostage. You own the domain, the website, and all of the files. If we stop working together, you keep everything and it keeps running.

Where I am

Omaha, Nebraska. I work with clients around the country, but if you’re local, I’ll buy you a coffee.
